The Honey Report – Filtering Fire
To filter or not to filter, is not a question … because although we love snacking on honey comb; loose bee body parts and wax is better removed. Done manually, the honey filters through 5 mesh layers and can take up to a month to drip through. And time is not an issue, processing honey is a craft so equipped with a ton of patience and excitement Plant Buddies will dedicate the month of June to filtering this sacred bee medicine.
Raw Wildflower Honey and the other gifts from bees like pollen and propolis (bee glue) are superfoods and offer deep healing nutrients and minerals that optimizes all our biological systems including the immune systems.
All these bee products are antiviral, antifungal and antimicrobial and have an extremely long shelf life. Did you know that honey can preserve for several thousands of years, maybe longer?
Time to stick(y) our hands in honey and learn the process. Good thing I got Nyc, the honey-scientist, by my side . Shout out to KatieBear for bringing the tools!! #BearMagic
