Food Is Thy Medicine And That’s It
Family Health is Wealth and our passion next to plants have always been nutrition, foods and the Healing Arts so I wanted to share some quick thoughts on foods for a strong immune system.
IF you’re going to stock up like its the Apocalypse why not stock up on the most vitamin dense foods possible (start reading labels to see what it contains). In other words, start taking your preventative health in your own hands. It’s probably the best thing you can do right now to stay healthy in this madness next to washing hands (but hand washing doesn’t help your intrinsic immunity function).
BUILD IMMUNE SYSTEM DEFENSE & EAT YOUR MEDICINAL MUSHROOMS!!
Mushrooms for immunity are more important than ever. Agarikon is the number one antiviral mushroom and Chaga, Reishi, Turkey Tail are all great varieties for building up your immune system defense. Cordycepts is an excellent one for respiratory health and for maintaining an oxygenated body and bloodstream and bugs don’t like that. All mushrooms contain immune boosting compounds (that help increase and strengthen your Natural Killer Cells) and powerful polysaccharides so make sure to eat from a diverse range as possible.

Incorporate more of the “good microbe army” and daily live food probiotic culture foods like pickles, kombucha, vinegars, pickled garlic, kimchi and anything else fermented. By eating more pre-biotics and probiotics you strengthen your Microbiome where 85% of the immune system resides. There is a symbiotic relationship between our Microbiome and immune system health. One can’t function optimally without the other. When both are in balance you are in good health.

Fasting and intermittent fasting is often overlooked as a true remedy although it has been part of ancient medicine and human health practices for thousands of years. CUT DOWN ON SUGARS!
Alkalinity of the body is key for vibrant health. Sugary foods and alcohol does the opposite and increases inflammation and makes your body more acidic, which lowers your immunity. Cutting down on added sugars is a quick fix and will help you balance your body. It’s really more a question of having will power and motivation to want to do that. Do you have it?
